TD: What kind of development cycle did you have to work with, and what was the team’s best moment other than launching the game? The rest of them, including the titles you get for unlocking them, are nice rewards for getting to know the single-player part of the game. Of course, we kept the option open to join any game you want, and we offer a third of all the maps right from the start. NK: We really wanted to create a sense of progression within the game and pull people into the campaign, experiencing the different AI difficulties and introducing them to the factions and background story. TD: I tend to take my time with single-player, but I have to beat the game to unlock all of the multiplayer maps. Mistbound was inspired by the industrial developments of the last centuries, so we wanted the music to create the feeling of a classic era. The whole world is blown and harvested to bits, but the band keeps on playing its happy tunes. NK: That’s also the result of our intention to lighten up the otherwise heavy theme of Mistbound. TD: That explains the jaunty background music as well? This translated into the colorful and lighthearted appearance of Greed Corp. The current state of the world in Mistbound is pretty apocalyptic, but we wanted to make the world look like it was worth saving and fighting for. Our artists were very much inspired by the work of Hayao Miyazaki. NK: Greed Corp takes place in the world of Mistbound, a universe we created as a stage for our upcoming games. is successful at creating both an original world and a new board game - make that a digital board game for which a real-world counterpart wouldn't be possible.TD: Sounds like all-out war…yet the world's very colorful. Spend a little time with it, though, and you'll find Greed Corp. It does take a few matches to really get an understanding of how the game works. is designed as a multiplayer game, the lengthy single-player campaign is loads of fun and serves as a useful training ground where you can develop your skills. Any combination of players can get greedy both locally and online. Up to four players can join a game but besides their visual traits there is no difference between the four factions. Players will be able to develop their own tactics with Greed Corp. Another option is to go on the offense and build a couple Cannons so you can hopefully pound your enemies into dust. Do you build a lot of Harvesters to earn massive loots? It's tricky because each Harvester you build dooms all the tiles surrounding it. offers plenty of interesting strategic possibilities. Even with these limited unit options, Greed Corp. Finally, the Carrier will transport Walkers to any tile on the map. A Cannon can be built to lob artillery at enemies and destroy their tiles. Armories will produce Walkers, your one movable unit that will go forth and claim tiles for you. Harvesters will drain resources from the land at the beginning of each turn until its tile is destroyed. Although there are many levels to the game (literally), you only have a few units to build. This is one of those games where the player with just one unit and one tile to their name might end up the victor in the end. Factions are eliminated if all their units and buildings are destroyed, but it is actually quite difficult to get a sense of who has the upper hand at any given time. The concept makes for great fun and I never tire of watching those columns crumble away and disappear into the nothing below.
